Incredible experience at Handies Douzo in the Heights! The service is top-notch—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The menu is creative, fresh, and full of exciting flavors, with impeccable quality across the board. The hand rolls, crudo, and fish were absolutely delicious. Just thinking about the dinner we had there puts a smile on my face. It was such a joy to explore a menu where every dish competes for the top spot—truly hard to pick a favorite. We sampled nearly everything, and it was all outstanding. The setup is an open kitchen/bar with a limited number of seats, so I strongly recommend making a reservation in advance. It’s probably not ideal for groups, but perfect for a more intimate experience. The atmosphere is great—vibrant yet relaxed. Right now, this is easily one of my absolute favorites in Houston. By far my favorite place in Houston to get sushi and hand rolls! The vibes are great, the staff is incredible, and the prices are incredibly fair for what you get. Just a four piece set gets me super full. Highly recommend!
Everything was so fresh and plated very beautifully. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed some of the things I tried and How I could see the chefs assembling each hand roll. I’d definitely go back again.

Having this restaurant on my list of places to visit I'm so glad that I was finally able to visit it- and it being on my birthday! I recommend reserving spots ahead as seating is limited and you'd be better accommodated if done so. You are greeted right when you walk through the door and are seated right away with reservations. The wait staff was wonderful at answering any questions and making us feel welcome. Each dish is prepared in front of you so you know it is very fresh. And letting them know ahead through the reservation that we were celebrating my birthday a birthday gift of sashimi and a candle to make a wish was quite the surprise!
